Li Meiling is Syaoran Li's cousin and fiancee. She is very protective over Syaoran, and doesn't want anyone else to come near him (especially Sakura). She came from Hong Kong to help Li capture the Clow Cards. She is very jealous of Sakura because she has magical powers and is able to help Syaoran capture the cards more than she can. There's a bit of rivalry between Sakura and Meiling in the beginning, but as the story goes along they become more like friends. Meiling even comes to realize later that she wasn't meant to be with Syaoran and starts to help Tomoyo pair Sakura and Syaoran together.
